How many times have you been at a party, and instead of someone having a chat with you, they are on their phone, updating their Facebook status to “Hey, I’m at a party!”
Facebook (and MySpace, etc.) may be a social networking platforms, but not when used to like this…

Check out the latest study:

Contrary to popular belief, the Internet and mobile phones are not isolating people but enhancing their social worlds, according to a U.S. survey.

The survey was sparked by a 2006 study by U.S. sociologists who argued technology is advancing a trend seen since 1985 — Americans becoming more socially isolated, their social networks shrinking, and the diversity of their contacts decreasing.

Studies are always b.s. – but this one is mega bullshit. You don’t need to do a study to see where the world is going, thanks to technology…

If you get a chance, see the film WALL-E. One of the themes is: the idea that, in the future,  all people will sit in chairs, connected to computers, barely even aware of the existence of other people; quite literally controlled by technology.
